Investment and Funds

Saving money to invest in a long-term goal is a rewarding experience. There are a myriad of investment options that are available, each with an opportunity to earn returns that beat inflation. It is crucial to think about the various types of investments and how they’ll fit within your overall financial objectives.

Funds and investment

A fund is a collective investment in which your and the other investors’ funds are pooled and then invested in a variety of assets. This helps to spread your risk since you’re not relying on the performance of a specific asset type. For instance the UK Equity Fund will consist of shares issued by various British companies.

There are also funds that have a variety different asset types, or certain sectors that are more specific. There is a fund for all investors, regardless of what their level of expertise and investment timeframe or their risk tolerance.

Bond funds are popular investments. They are a combination of IOUs, or debt, generally from governments or companies. They can be less volatile than stocks. However, they can still be affected by interest rate changes and the credit rating of the issuer.
